If the mission of Fairport Baptist Homes resonates with you, you can support our important work by contributing through the Fairport Baptist Homes Foundation, in a variety of ways:
Unrestricted gifts to the Annual Fund enable us to direct funds to areas of greatest need and help us to continue to develop innovative programs to meet our ongoing challenges. Gifts of every size are accepted and appreciated throughout the year.

Legacy Giving: Charitable Gifts for the Future
A planned gift is an “ultimate” gift, expressing your deeply felt philanthropic commitment to doing what you believe is right for an organization or institution. There are many reasons for you to consider a planned philanthropic gift. If you view your resources in terms of “eternal return,” you can leave a lasting legacy and make a true impact by investing with us for the long term.
Through an estate gift, you share your commitment to Fairport Baptist Homes beyond your lifetime by initiating plans now that testify to the faith and confidence you have in Fairport Baptist Homes’ ministry to the elderly in our community. You will have the satisfaction of knowing that your resources will help shape the lives and character of those who come after you.
You need to discuss this decision with your family, your financial planner and your legal advisor. Some gifts can provide income to you while you are alive; others primarily provide income to Fairport Baptist Homes.

Honors and Memorials
Gifts in memory or in honor of someone you care deeply about—as well as gifts to commemorate a milestone, birthday or occasion—offer a unique tribute. You might consider acknowledging the special contribution of a Fairport Baptist Homes nurse or other caregiver, a birthday or other celebratory event of a family member, or a graduation or promotion with a donation in honor of that special person.
Wall of Remembrance
A Tree of Life on the Wall of Remembrance, underwritten by Judge Robert F. and Winifred Wagner, was unveiled in 2004 to showcase memorial and honor gifts directed to the Fairport Baptist Homes Endowment Fund. Leaves and rocks for the Wall of Remembrance ranging from $150 to $2,500 are available for purchase. A companion Memory Book is available in which donors may inscribe personal tributes. Vehicle Donation Program
Donating your old vehicle to Fairport Baptist Homes, is convenient, easy, and may qualify you for a tax deduction. And best of all, your donation of a used car or truck will make a big difference in supporting Fairport Baptist Homes.

In-kind donations, as well as cash donations, can help our operation and services. We recognize that many times individuals and businesses are more prepared to provide in-kind support than cash donations. In-kind support offers the flexibility of participation in our important mission and can help us provide major services, which equates to costs savings for our organization.
In-kind giving meets specific needs that immediately impact our foundation. In-kind support may include, but is not limited to the following:
- Office furniture, office paper, durable medical supplies such as walkers and wheelchairs (in good condition), newspaper subscriptions, postage stamps, gift cards to area businesses (Wegmans/Tops, office supply stores, florists, pizza, dollar store, etc.), paper goods and party supplies for celebrations, batteries for motorized scooters, gas cards for volunteer drivers, bottled water, packaged snacks, etc.
- Professional services and expertise such as advertising and marketing services, public relations services, printing, graphic arts and design, building and construction, and computer consultation.
The tax credit for in-kind gifts is governed by the same rules as for cash donations. You will receive a charitable donation receipt, which you must determine based on the fair market value of the property on the date of the gift.

United Way Designation
We don’t receive annual funds directly from the United Way, but we participate in the Donor Designation program. By filling out the Donor Designation Form and naming the Fairport Baptist Homes (Donor #1144) as the recipient of all or part of your donation, you can support this very worthwhile community fund drive. The only money that we receive from United Way is that which individuals like you choose to designate.
Adult Volunteers are welcome at Fairport Baptist Homes to help with parties, entertainment, transportation within the homes for appointments, visitation and assisting in the Plain ‘N Fancy gift shop. We are currently looking for Foundation Board Members as well as volunteers to serve on various committees including our Swing for Seniors Golf Tournament, Step Up for Seniors Walk, finance, marketing and leadership development. Board members are required to regularly attend and actively participate in meetings, to personally support the Foundation, to help spread awareness of the Foundation in our community and to secure support for the Foundation from individuals or businesses.

“Swing for Seniors” Golf Tournament
Inaugurated in 2011, the tournament is our largest fundraising event of the year. Participants enjoy lunch, cocktails, dinner, a putting and hole-in-one contest, opportunity to win raffle items, door prizes, and golfer prizes, plus 18 holes of golf. In 2016, it raised more than $70,000. All support FBH’s programs and services for seniors.
“Step Up for Seniors” Walk
Save the Date! The fourth annual ““Step up For Seniors” Walk” through Fairport is taking place on Saturday, September 17th. Last year more than 100 people contributed to make the event a success. Don Alhart, from 13WHAM-TV, will be the host again for the event and will run for Team Lois – in honor of his mother, who was a resident for many years at Fairport Baptist Homes. The walk raises funds for seniors and their programs and services from Fairport Baptist Homes.

Institutions and organizations within American Baptist Churches USA work interdependently through the Institutional Support process. American Baptist institutions agree to cooperate in raising, collecting, and distributing voluntary contributions by American Baptist congregations through a set of covenants, and gifts through Institutional Support are credited to the appropriate church’s record of mission giving through American Baptist Mission support. Institutional Support participation is available to Fairport Baptist Homes and is credited to the Annual Fund.
Contributions from friends, family members, businesses, churches, individuals and groups in the community have made Fairport Baptist Homes a center for excellence in care for seniors for more than a century. Private gifts enrich the quality of life for our residents, children and others who benefit from our high quality, affordable health care, housing, and community services.
